Agritech innovation has become the buzzword in the Indian startup scene. New ideas are emerging to help alleviate the issues in Indian agriculture. There is a need to have a single platform where farmers, innovators, policymakers, investors and buyers can come together and transform farmers into agripreneurs and produce into global brands.
In this endeavor, the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI) organized its first ‘Global Agri-tech Summit 2026’ from 24 to 26 April 2026 in Bengaluru. This flagship forum and trade exhibition that connects soil, seed, science and supply chains was hosted in association with the University of Agricultural Sciences and KAPPEC. We visited the FKCCI Global Agri-Tech Summit 2026 and checked out the numerous agri-tech innovations that were showcased there.
Moonrider Electric Tractor

Diesel prices are going up along with maintenance costs. This Made-In-India electric tractor can bring down operational costs for farmers who depend on diesel powered tractors. Moonrider is Bangalore-based cleantech startup that has come with this new innovative electric tractor. With its In-house, innovative battery-pack, Moonrider claims to have created a world’s first oil-cooled thermal solution for its tractors.
Moonrider has two versions of its electric tractors – Moonrider Force with 27HP power and Moonrider Maxforce with 75HP power. Their batteries are charged in 7 hours normally but they also have 3o min rapid charging option. There were many attempts to produce an electric tractor in India, but very few have succeeded. Let’s hope Moonrider will make a major attempt in breaking ground in the agritech sector since it is funded by venture capital of $6 million in its Series A funding.
Megha Agro Dripsmart

Precision farming based on scientific tools has become the need of the hour. Due to erratic weather and declining farm productivity, Indian farmers are worried about maintaining their crops and getting better yield. Drip irrigation is a great way to irrigate plants efficiently at their roots. However, there is a need to monitor how much nutrients are provided along with water supply.
Megha Agro Dripsmart claims to have created a crop-centric precision farming automation system that takes care of irrigation, fertigation, climate monitoring, pest control, and harvest prediction all in a one-stop solution. Its Dripsmart devices measure soil temperature, moisture and nutrients at the plant roots and then begins fertigation through its drip irrigation units. Its Dripsmart devices are solar powered so there is gap in real-time data collection and crops are irrigated automatically without any human intervention!
Make-In-The-Box Modular Freezers

Make-In-The-Box is a Gauribidanur-based startup focused on building next-generation smart factories and modular freezers that can deployed rapidly. The company offers is a smart, modular, and portable continuous freezing factory named MFreezer that can be deployed in a container anywhere in the world. The idea is to decentralize the food processing supply chain and enable young entrepreneurs to scale up and launch their products at the earliest possible time.
There is a major loss of 30% food produce at farmgate due to lack of food preservation infrastructure. Make-In-The-Box offers a modular freezer fitted inside a standard 20ft container that can transported and installed easily at remote villages. These freezer units can run on AC/DC power derived from the power grid or solar power, which is highly beneficial in rural areas where power supply is erratic. There is no need of any civil construction and freezer units can set up in a plug & play mode.
Dostbin Composter

Waste management has become a major crisis in almost all Indian cities and metros. While large apartment complexes have their own wet waste composting units, smaller societies and individual houses need worry about their wet waste. Considering this issue, Dr. Seema Singh, a professor at BMS Institute of Technology and Management, Bengaluru, innovated a waste composting technology named Dostbin.
Dostbin claims to be India’s first patented automatic compost bin that can process organic waste at home. It comes in two versions – Dostbin Popular is a manually operated composting machine that can convert 3kgs of organic waste everyday, while Dostbin Premium is an automated machine that can also be monitored by a mobile app. Users are provided with a microbial remix powder and cocopeat bricks that help hasten the waste decomposition process.
